Birthday Paraphernalia

It was my birthday on Friday (and Joyce's too - Happy Birthday Joyce!) and I was lucky enough to go out for a meal with my friends and get thoroughly spoilt with lovely presents and cards.

I'm over the moon to get this award from Sheila Vaughan whose beautiful paintings are a huge inspiration to me. The trouble is I have got to nominate two others to receive the award and it's very difficult to choose from all the talented people out there. However I'm going to choose two of my countrymen/women – one of them is Rob Ijbema who seems effortlessly to create beautiful oil paintings of the welsh countryside, and Julie Oakley who with her brilliant pen and ink drawings gives us a glimpse into her family life. And I can't believe I've actually managed to do some links for the first time!

Walk

It's quite odd drawing something from above and I'm sure the perspective is way out on this drawing!
We've got into the habit recently of going for long walks on Sunday and this old man (he's 13 now) seems to be going from strength to strength. He's perfectly capable of completing 4 miles at a time even though he's got his own agenda and constantly wanders off on a mission of his own!
