Portrait of a little dog

I've just completed this portrait as part of my 'Pet Portraits' course. It's from a photo I found online. I used Wallis paper and started off with an underpainting. I have to say, Wallis paper is so brilliant - it's definitely my favourite, which is unfortunate because you can't get it in the UK any more. You can get it shipped from the USA, but it's quite expensive.

Bravo! What a noble pose and what great use of color and light. Simply fabulous.

Thank you both for your kind comments. I will probably try and get the Wallis paper despite the expense!

What a beautiful painting, and portrait! Along the line of a traditional or antique dog painting with a contemporary twist..classic but fresh and modern. Love it.
