View from the bow

After seeing a recent documentary about the wonderful David Hockney, where he was extolling the delights of drawing and painting on an ipad, I splashed out and got one for myself. The best thing about it is the speed of working and the convenience. It means that I can sketch and get colour references from life quickly outside without the bother of having to carry around pencils paints or pastels. I'm just getting used to it at the moment - it's quite freeing having to use your finger to paint and I'm really enjoying using it. This is a sketch done with a clever app called 'Artrage' which mimics the look and feel of oil paint.
