Larger painting

It was very enjoyable doing this 14 x 10 painting. I started it from life and continued from a photo. The reason being that I only had a couple of hours in the afternoon to do it when the light was the same. This is a big problem I must get over, because I would have preferred to do it all from life, but I work much too slowly at the moment. I do think I learned a bit from doing it though, and it's number 23 on the way to 120!

I really love how you handled the light and shadow with simple shapes of color. I bet you are finding you can work much faster now that you have become so familiar with your subject.

As has been said, the handling of light and brushstrokes of simple color are excellent!

wow! I know it took longer for this larger painting but it paid off in spades. This is a great painting. The colors and values are handled really well and this shows off your solid drawing skills. His pose has weight and natural gesture to it. The skin temperature shifts are a delight. Your better half better like this one. It is a beauty!
